What are Invisalign® Invisible Braces?
Invisalign® Invisible Braces are custom-made clear plastic aligners that are worn over your teeth to gradually move your teeth into the exact position your dentist has outlined for you. When treatment is complete, you will have the smile you have always wanted! Unlike traditional metal braces which are permanently attached to your teeth with wires and brackets, Invisalign® invisible braces are easily removable for eating and brushing, as well as for special occasions, making them conveniently and aesthetically desirable.
What Does Invisalign® Treatment Involve?
Treatment starts with a consultation with your Wentworth Family Dental professional, who will evaluate your smile and develop a custom plan that will showcase the step-by-step transformation of your smile. Next, three-dimensional digital images will be taken of your entire jaw. This will allow your dentist to view the jaw from different angles, foresee what the face might look like in years to come, and essentially see how Invisalign® will change the facial aesthetics. After you have approved your plan, a unique and custom set of aligners is made. The aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic. While the total number of aligners varies from patient to patient, 20-29 sets per arch is typical. Length of treatment varies, but most patients’ complete treatment in 12-18 months. New trays are necessary every 1-2 weeks. You will visit us every 4-6 weeks to check your progress. For the very best result, Invisalign® Aligners should be worn for 20-22 hours a day for the entire duration of treatment, allowing you 2-4 hours per day to remove them.
